Don't miss this exciting opportunity on February 19, 2009 from 7am EST to 7pm EST (UTC -5) to interact with schools from around the world. The schedule of presentations is now posted. Join hundreds of sites from countries all around the world including Australia, Canada, Portugal, Croatia, Great Britain, Spain, Slovenia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Viet Nam, the US and more in the upcoming Megaconference Jr. 2009!

You'll also have a chance to win exciting prizes from our vendor sponsors - Polycom, Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, MOTE Marine Laboratory, Center for Puppetry Arts, and the Cranbrook Institute of Science. New sponsors and prizes continue to become available as well and will be posted on the website as we have them.

And don't forget that this year, we are pleased to bring Danica McKellar, best-selling author, actress and internationally known mathematician live to the Megaconference Jr. event. Please go to: http://www.megaconferencejr.org and review the posted schedule and presentations prior to completing your registration. Again this year you have the ability to interact live with one of the scheduled presentations. Once you have read the schedule and know which session you would like to interact with, go to the "register" link and complete the form. You will be asked to make your selection towards the end of the registration form. When you have completed all fields click the "Submit" button. You should then receive an email confirmation.

The interactive registrations with presenters are on a first come first serve basis. Once we have three for each presentation, interactive registration will be closed.

NOTE: If you already registered and would like to sign up to be an ineractive for another presentation (or if you are presenting and would like to update your title or abstract) you can do so by using the email and password you used to register originally to log back in and select your interactive session (or update your presentation information). Don't forget to click "submit" when done. If you have experience any difficulty in signing up for an interactive seat, please let us know.

Proposal Submission Now Open

We are now accepting proposals for Megaconference Jr. 2009!!

You can propose a 20-25 min. interactive presentation or showcase an interesting collaboration project that you have been doing in your school. You can also suggest activities that could be organized at "downtimes" between the blocks of presentations. You can also sign up as an "Interactive" site once the final schedule is posted. Or, you can join us as participants with no special presentation given from your side.

We are still in need of volunteer teachers and students to help on the planning teams. Join one of the five planning committees now!

Megaconference Jr. 2008 - a Huge Success!

Dear Megaconference Jr. 2008 Presenters, Interactives, Participants, VJs, Viewers, and Sponsors,

Thank you so much for participating in the February 21, 2008 Megaconference Jr. event! It was just fantastic thanks to the wonderful presentations and discussions and interactions among you all around the world. We know how much work you all put into the event and it sure showed!

We hope that you have gotten some ideas for new collaborations and projects and met some new "friends" around the world who you can continue to interact with long after the Megaconference. To help you in doing this, we encourage you to use this Megaconference Jr. blog to post your collaboration requests or comment on the event or just find each other to continue the discussions started a few weeks ago.

If you were not aware of it, many prizes were given out throughout the day (and this year you did NOT have to be present to win) so be sure to check out the prizes page and if your school is on there as a prize winner but you haven't heard from the Sponsor yet as to how to claim your prize, be sure to let us know. We do want to give a final thanks to our very generous sponsors including Royal Botanical Gardens, Center for Puppetry Arts, Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, COSI Columbus, Cranbrook Institute of Science, Cleveland Institute of Music, Mote Marine Laboratory, Vu Ports, Tandberg, and Polycom.

Megaconference Jr. 2008 is almost here!!!

Download and print your your 5 Year Anniversary Flags! Send out a Press Release to help promote your school's participation in the Megaconference Jr. event. There is a Generic Press Release which you can modify on the website.

There are no Roll Calls this year but many prizes to give away from our wonderful vendor/sponsors. Prizes will be given away throughout the day by the VJs and during the vendor showcase so stay tuned in for as long as possible to win great prizes.

Megaconference Jr. Website is Back Up

Apologies for the troubles with the website. The domain had unexpectedly expired so you we were unable to get to it. It is back up now and we have extended the deadline for proposals to November 16, 2007. Reminder, you must register first and then go back to Login with your username and password once you have successfully registered and *then* you will be able to upload your proposals.
